Now

The expanding studio in Arlington, Massachusetts uses the latest Mac and Windows-based systems for Hi-Def digital editing, compositing, and compression. We shoot HD direct to both SD and Compact Flash memory using a Sony's EX-3 camera with SxS SD memory adaptors and to our nanoFlash recorder. Our 1,500 square-foot space with 13 foot ceilings, green screen, an array of lighting and production gear, including a portable Losmandy spider dolly allow us to shoot most projects in house.

A fast and efficient digital workflow is critical to our customers and therefore to us. We shoot direct-to-memory at rates of up to 220 Megabits/second. (BBC HD broadcast only requires 50 Megabits/second for acquisition). Video segments are ingested into our Final Cut Pro system at high speed. Editing can begin immediately. Rendered video is written to high-speed arrays, compressed and encoded, and then uploaded to our servers in Santa Barbara, CA for world-wide access. Clients get to review high quality digital video whenever and wherever is convenient for them. Revisions are made quickly and revised segments are reposted for review. Final compression and encoding is agonized over to make it perfect while deadlines are met.
